The Car Bomb in London.

by roynelson @ Friday, Jun. 29, 2007 - 19:24:26

The Car Bomb, discovered in the Haymarket district of London, can only mean more pressure on the new Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, to support the 'War on Terror' and introduce more laws designed to take away our Human Rights.

Knowing Brown's Socialist background may deter him from even more draconian laws, this discovery only adds weight to the NeoCon's in the UK.

Control the Masses.Control the Media.Control the Economy.
It all equates to more Profit for the Rich and more Hardship for the Poor.

So who planted the 'bomb' ?

It sickens me to think that it was my own British Security Forces.

But, knowing what my Government is capable of, who else could it be ?

My eldest daughter is pregnant and will make me a Grandfather for the fourth time.

She informed me last night and asked how I felt!

I feel OLD. lol.

Love Light and Happiness to them and theirs.

100,000 hits for my Lycos site.

by roynelson @ Monday, Jun. 18, 2007 - 19:16:54

I have just noticed that my Lycos blog has received over 100,000 hits.

I am usually not bothered by the numbers that visit my sites,
but 100,000 is a figure even I cannot ignore.
Yahoo !

I know that some of my posts are controversial.
It has always been my intention to 'stir feathers'.

May I also have opened eyes to what is really going on in the world.

Hands through the Letter box at 3 am !

by roynelson @ Tuesday, Jun. 12, 2007 - 16:16:20

What a bloody night.

Just about to fall asleep when I hear noises at the door.
On investigation, it sounded like a couple of people having a quiet conversation.
No longer alarmed, I put the kettle on for a cuppa tea.

My flat is on the ground floor of a block, so Im used to the traffic.
But then,I heard the letterbox go and a hand appeared.
Shocked, I kicked the door and shouted.
The hand withdrew and a mumbled sorry was heard.

The guy I share the flat with appeared, asking what was wrong.
A bump against the door and the hand through the letterbox , gave him his answer.
I reached for a fire extinguisher, while he went into the kitchen, returning with a knife.
Shouting at him to put it back - idiot -, I set off the extinguisher when the hand started waving again.

'Somebody sent me', wailed the voice.
'Who sent you', I asked.

He didnt answer but stayed outside, mumbling.
I thought that there was two people because of the conversation. I also believe I felt the presence of two people. But,in the cold light of day, there may have only been one guy, with a profound mental health issue.

From frightened to slightly bored by now, we decided to chain the door and open it to confront the 'visitor(s)'.
The chain was short, allowing no chance of seeing anyone.

I said that the police were on their way and bid him goodnight.
He wished us a 'goodnight' and left.

Bizarre.

US stops testing for 'mad cow'.

by roynelson @ Thursday, Jun. 07, 2007 - 15:21:56

The Bush administration said Tuesday it will fight to keep meat packers from testing all their animals for mad cow disease.

A beef producer in the western state of Kansas, Creekstone Farms Premium Beef, wants to test all of its cows.

Larger meat companies opposed the safety measure fearing a cut in their own profits.

The Agriculture Department regulates the test and argued that widespread testing could lead to a 'false positive' that would harm the meat industry.

Has the US not learned the lessons of the UK beef industry ?

Or are they willing to risk the health of their citizens for the extra profits of their already fat cat meat industry ?

Iraqi Trade Unionists To Tour USA

by roynelson @ Tuesday, Jun. 05, 2007 - 21:04:52

Iraqi Labour Leaders are to tour the US in June of 2007,

Their message: "Troops out now. Iraq's oil belongs to the Iraqi people!"

Two leaders of Iraq's labour movement, Sister Hashmeya Muhsin Hussein, President of the Electrical Utility Workers Union, and Brother Faleh Abood Umara, General Secretary of the Federation of Oil Unions, will tour a dozen U.S. cities between June 4 and June 29, 2007.

During their visit, they will address members of Congress, labour audiences and the general public about the impact the U.S. occupation has had on the labour movement and daily lives of working people in Iraq.

They will speak about reconstruction and will explain why the labour
movement is opposed to the proposed hydrocarbon law favoured by the
Bush administration and oil corporations which would put foreign oil
corporations in effective control of 2/3 of Iraq's undeveloped oil
reserves.

They will also describe the likely consequences if the
occupation abruptly ends and prospects for a stable, democratic,
non-sectarian future for Iraq.

coming to your city. Contact Thomas Bacon with any questions at
