Its Not The Kids To Blame. Its Us.

by roynelson @ Tuesday, Jun. 03, 2008 - 19:30:56

Children killing Children.
Guns Knifes and the Boot.

Everyone is clamouring for change;
but nothing ever gets done.

Our beloved economic system is failing us, the people.
The only ones who seem to understand this are the kids.

When you have a society in which large sections of the community feel alienated and helpless, it is no wonder that they feel they have nothing to lose by committing heinous crimes.

A life in prison is as good as a life struggling working all the hours God sends to simply keep heads above water.
The TV and Media showing all the glitzy 'must haves' that they can never afford.

What is so wrong with our society that Children kill Children ?

Greed and Selfishness.

We need to change OUR system of things.
OUR attitudes.
OUR selves.

Before the children will even think of changing themselves.

All too true. We have a greedy selfish society. It is true when people feel hopeless what is to stop them from a committing crimes. When will we ever figure this out.

Absolutely...as a society we have sold a selfish, greedy ,violent and superficial set of ideals to our children who were treated, like all of us currently are, as nothing but consumers...vessels to be filled...and we filled them with cynicism and despair...now we criminalise them with ASBOS and infantalize them with rules until the only way for them to test themselves and feel alive is to take stupid risks....I carried shotguns aged 12, I drove tractors and cars and trials bikes round fields...I carried knives and air pistols..just like all my other mates I drank cheap cider, hung out in gangs and nicked fags from news agents...we had the freedom to test our boundaries and become independent...and we got a thick ear if we went too far.....and most of us are still here and have a strong sense of community...
