The Most Important Questions...

by roynelson @ Sunday, Jul. 27, 2008 - 23:14:28

Are sometimes never asked.

Still Waiting For The Ever Dense.

by roynelson @ Sunday, Jul. 27, 2008 - 20:53:38

Have their still only been 3 pictures from 7 7 released to the public ?

Of all the evidence that has been sifted through, why are we only shown 3 still photo's of the alleged 'bombers' ?

Why have we not heard anything from Peter Power, Visor Consultants ?
Release ALL the evidence.

Give us a Full Inquiry !

Melting !

by roynelson @ Saturday, Jul. 26, 2008 - 15:06:36

Its turned 3pm in London and I am melting.

I had plans for the weekend but my body aches like hell,
so resting is my only option.

I am getting so bored of feeling like this.

Something Strange This Way Comes.

by roynelson @ Thursday, Jul. 24, 2008 - 22:29:59

Well, the last week appears to herald the start of Summer - yahoo.

Work has also picked up.
The good weather appears to bring out the customers - where have they been hiding ?

I am shrugging off the final effects of the flu and beginning to feel more like my old self.

I am burning Frankincense like it is going out of fashion.
Yet, it feels like I am missing something.

I wonder..?

Forget Knife Crime. Jail Artists !?

by roynelson @ Tuesday, Jul. 22, 2008 - 22:27:55

Been asked to get this story out there.
Happily.

With Gun and knife killing happening in London on a daily basis this is what the police and courts focus on...

DJ DARK (Speakers Corner) Jailed today for 18 months

Dark along with 8 other members of the DPM Graff crew have all been convicted on charges of criminal damage & also for the first time in the history of Graffiti culture a charge of conspiracy to criminal damage. 3 have been sentenced to 18 months, One member "NEAS" faces 2 years, one faces 15 months and the remaining 4 were given extended sentences with community service.

This is an attempt by the courts to make an example of these artist to deter artist in the future.. It wont work. Remembering a quote from Style Wars, "It's like a Virus", Graffiti will not stop, it is a culture with a strong heritage This sentencing will only serve to bring further notoriety to the artist that make up the DPM crew. Our thoughts are with them, we will support them fully through their time inside. This is an injustice, a waste of public sector money & will not serve as a deterrent. It will in fact be counter productive from that in which the court hopes to achieve. This will not deter artist it will only give them new martyrs. So saying this, well done DPM on your success, galleries await, press await, the biography, TV appearances etc.. the system is flawed and we shall exploit it until people see sense.

Our recommended alternative: Use all of this money (or even a fraction of it) already currently being thrown at the BTP (British Transport Police), Buffering (Cleaning paint of trains), Court charges, Legal Fee's and any other cash being wasted on their little cat & mouse game right now and put it into commissioning the worlds leading artist to paint masterpieces for these trains. The standard will be immense. The art can reflect the varying taste of the artist and the city. Artist and the "Privatized" train companies can even profit together via sponsorship deals incorporating the artist work. (We are already staring at advertising all day every day, why not utilize the talents around us?).. Seeing art of such a standard will also have an effect on the developing artist, they will have inspiration, and with inspiration the art form will improve. Graffiti is here to stay, Jailing artist is no solution, Graffiti doesn't even necessarily need to be a problem, there are issue's that need to be addressed but locking up artist and branding them as vandals is no way to address these issues.

The campaign starts now.

FREE DPM!

We need full press support on this one, we have already secured an exhibition in a leading NYC gallery space, gathered statements of support from South Bank Art Curators (Including Tate Modern & Queen Elizabeth Hall) & various Art publications. We are just beginning. Graffiti is not a crime and Jail Time is not a deterrent.

This is the first case in the history of Graffiti that an entire crew have been trailed on conspiracy charges. On the same day they face trail the Tate Modern are showcasing an international Graffiti exhibition and laws to preserve the work of Banksy have been passed in Bristol city. There are mixed signals in these actions. What is Art? What is Vandalism? and when does Vandalism become accepted as Art?

Those convicted for Conspiracy are:
1 Jack Binnie, 25, from Lewisham
2 Andrew Gillman, 25, from Battersea
3 Ziggy Grudzinskas, 25, from Blackheath
4 Alex McClelland, 24, from Dulwich
5 Matthew Pease, 24, from Lewisham
6 Paul Andrew Stewart, 26, from Lewisham
7 Matthew Tanti, 23, from Streatham
8 James Teasdale, 21, from Dulwich
9 Slav Zinoviev, 25, from Battersea

Also convicted:
10 Mark Goss, 22, from Sidcup (Criminal Damage) tag- "RUST/TURES"

Tags used included:
ANDREW GILLMAN "NEAS"
SLAV ZINOVIEV "ZINO"
ZIGGY GRUDZINSKAS "AKRE" / "EDGE"
JACK BINNIE "GOKS" / "GOX"
MATTHEW TANTI "MYSE"
MATTHEW PEASE "PILS"
PAUL STEWART "DARK"
JAMES TEASDALE "AMSR" / "JPEG"

Check here for the British Transport Police view on this:

Even though this sentencing is meant to serve as a deterrent the crew have already secured lasting exhibitions in New York City as a consequence and are continuing to gain public support, including support from with in the art establishment. Sentencing took place Friday July 11th

PS. FAO anyone who were regular at Speakers Corner Brixton. One of the defendants Paul Stewart "DARK" has been a resident DJ with us from the beginnings and is a foundation member of what we do here at Speakers, so this case has extra concern for us. Dark is a creative, and thats what art is, we encourage people to be creative artistically, lyrically and in general. Dark nor no member of DPM pose a threat to the public. Jail is not the answer...

Street art beautifies spaces that would otherwise be urban wastelands...

WE ALL HAVE TO STAND UP AND SAY SOMETHING ABOUT THIS....

Thank You, Abbie.

by roynelson @ Monday, Jul. 21, 2008 - 17:15:06

I have just returned from spending a few days with my partner.

I arrived at hers on Thursday, suffering badly from flu.
Abbie treated me with kindness and remedies and today I am back at work fitter and stronger than last week.

Thank You, my Lady.
I know how difficult I can be when feeling unwell.

Sorry. I Forgot I Owe You Money (!)

by roynelson @ Wednesday, Jul. 16, 2008 - 14:23:05

Why do certain people think its ok not to pay their bills for work done.

I have been chasing a guy for over a month now.
I let him go owing £120 after he promised to bring it in the following week.
Two weeks ago, I rang to remind him.

No problem, he tells me. He has just been too busy (!).

Well, this week I have rang him three times only for him not to answer.

Cheers, Tony, I would rather you told me you have no intention of paying.
I prefer thieves to be honest with me.

Coughs And Sneezes.

by roynelson @ Tuesday, Jul. 15, 2008 - 20:26:24

I can not remember the last time I had a summer cold.

Our apprentice started the ball rolling when he felt a 'little unwell' last week.
Then my mate got it.

Three o'clock I was woken by a coughing fit.
Now I feel shitty - boo.

Winter is meant to be the time for colds, isnt it ?

Dead Four Years.

by roynelson @ Friday, Jul. 11, 2008 - 11:23:48

Tis four years ago today that my ex partner died.

Strange how someone with so much potential to do good died breaking so many hearts and lives.

I feel no anger, no guilt, no loss.

Unlike her brother, Adam fairclough, professor of American Studies at UEA, Norwich, author of many books on the Civil Rights struggle in the USA.
AND
Her sister, Alison Gelfand, of Merrick, New York.

I also name Gary Seaman, of Croyden.
Marion Wills, of Twickenham.
Melfyn Summers, of Caernarfon, North Wales.

Liars and Abusers all.

Siabreen RIP

Always Trust Your Spider Senses.

by roynelson @ Thursday, Jul. 10, 2008 - 21:17:50

Riding a motorcycle is the only way to travel.
In London, where the streets are clogged with cars, it is a necessity.
You travel quicker and see so much more of the world.
Plus, it is great fun.

There are downsides, the weather being the main.
(for me, an opportunity to hone my skills)
Car drivers, who leave their wits and manners at home,
and Pedestrians - who I see as drivers without their cars.

To survive as long as I have is down to skill and good judgment.
Also, I trust my intuition.
My spider senses were on full alert this afternoon and I slowed down.
The road was clear and nothing appeared amiss.
Then, a man seeing his bus stop across the road, stepped off the pavement, right into my path.

He hadnt looked to see if the road was safe to cross.
Just ran out.
If I hadnt slowed there would have been a collision.

I smiled with relief at him and whispered Thank You to myself.
He called me a fucking wanker and was still swearing at me when he reached the bus.

People.

Summer Blues (and greys)

by roynelson @ Wednesday, Jul. 09, 2008 - 21:19:39

I am so pissed off with the weather at the moment.
It is early July and summer has appeared to have gone walkabout.
Boo.

My bike jacket smells like it does in the winter,
when it has no chance to dry out properly - musty -
and I am constantly damp.

Last summer was a non event.
This year I hoped would be so different.
Wearing my winter coat in July isnt what I had in mind.

What Really Happened On 7 7 ?

by roynelson @ Tuesday, Jul. 08, 2008 - 02:34:18

Looking back over the last four years has been confusing.

For the first week after the bombings, the media repeated similar soundbites we had heard after 9 11.

'Muslim Terrorists' was the phrase I heard and saw used in the media, like a mantra.

Then, the Government stated their intention to increase the UK's Military presence in Iraq.
I feared for London, where I lived and worked.
Surely, this would lead to increased and more severe attacks ?

7 7 and 9 11 especially, seemed highly professional, ruthless and clinical.
Brilliant in simplicity and audacity.

How could just a handful of men/women inflict such a deadly toll in the capital Cities of the USA and UK ?

A willingness to sacrifice themselves for the positive outcome of their mission.
No thought of failure, no risk of capture.
Just bloody mayhem.

Coalition Forces struck back hard.
We fired more Missiles.
We killed even greater numbers of Taliban and Iraqi insurgents.
We had so much success President Bush declared an end of the war.

The Worlds Media followed and we were shown the destroyed Hospitals, Schools and Temples.
Ordinary people, no weapons nor desire to kill, homeless because of an off target missile.
Their villages razed to the ground because of the (mis)information about WMD.

The Governments of the West expected more attacks in revenge - and they came.

Several car bombs in London failed to go off.
Two bombs planted in Central London that were within seconds of detonation, but defused by Police arriving with only seconds to spare.
The devices were crude, cheap.
Then there was the attack on the Airport.
A 4X4 rammed the entrance and the driver comically set fire to himself.
There have been similar incidents in the USA.

7 7 was used by Blair to validate Bush's continuing occupation of Iraq and commit more of our troops in a War that, even he, believed wrong from the start.
Blair had supported action against those responsible for 9 11.
But balked when he realised that Bush and the Neo Cons were going into Iraq.

Was 7 7 a 'false flag' incident that pulled British citizens, by the nose, into an Illegal War ?

There are so many details that dont make sense.
The "Security Exercise" taking place at the same time, organised by VISOR CONSULTANTS, involving Bombs in the EXACT locations, at the EXACT time.

For an event to be used in the political way that 7 7 has. (An Illegal Invasion Of Another Country)
There should be no doubt !

Release ALL the evidence.

Terry Fields.

by roynelson @ Wednesday, Jul. 02, 2008 - 19:37:39

Terry Fields died at the weekend, aged 71.

I met Terry when he was a Labour MP for Liverpool back in the 80's.

A committed Socialist and Trade Unionist, Terry was also a supporter of the Militant Tendency.

He stood on a platform for radical change that included Nationalising the Banks, a 35 hour week and a minimum wage.

When Terry won the Liverpool vote he gave money to the Labour and Trade Union movement, urging worker's MPs on worker's wages.

Realising that Leadership can get isolated and comforted against the burdens of ordinary people, he advocated ALL Labour MPs should do the same.

Only Tony Mulhearn, another Liverpool MP supported Terry back then.

Fly High, Terry.
