Riding a motorcycle is the only way to travel.
In London, where the streets are clogged with cars, it is a necessity.
You travel quicker and see so much more of the world.
Plus, it is great fun.
There are downsides, the weather being the main.
(for me, an opportunity to hone my skills)
Car drivers, who leave their wits and manners at home,
and Pedestrians - who I see as drivers without their cars.
To survive as long as I have is down to skill and good judgment.
Also, I trust my intuition.
My spider senses were on full alert this afternoon and I slowed down.
The road was clear and nothing appeared amiss.
Then, a man seeing his bus stop across the road, stepped off the pavement, right into my path.
He hadnt looked to see if the road was safe to cross.
Just ran out.
If I hadnt slowed there would have been a collision.
I smiled with relief at him and whispered Thank You to myself.
He called me a fucking wanker and was still swearing at me when he reached the bus.
People.
